How much does it cost to make a film?

As a student filmmaker, there are many costs that are reduced due to discounts that we can receive. Not only is equipment cheaper, labor costs are minimal due to the fact that college students in training generally give up their free time in order to help fellow student filmmakers. At the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, our professors are working industry professionals that also freely give their knowledge to help to student projects. Thousands of dollars of the grip equipment used is provided for the school for free, also our projects are also covered under the school's insurance policy. So as you look at the budget below, keep in mind that it would cost nearly double without the aid of the school.
